Personal Journey

Born and raised in Yerevan, Gurgen Simonyan has dedicated his life to serving the Armenian people and advancing democratic values. From his early days as a student activist to his current role as a political leader, he has consistently championed the causes of justice, equality, and progress.

His journey began in the halls of Yerevan State University, where he studied Political Science and International Relations. It was there that he first developed his passion for public service and his vision for a modern, democratic Armenia that could take its rightful place on the world stage.

Throughout his career, Gurgen has worked tirelessly to bridge divides, build consensus, and create opportunities for all Armenians to thrive. His approach combines deep respect for Armenian traditions with a forward-looking vision for the country's future.

Founded Armenia Nexus as a progressive political movement focused on democratic reform, economic development, and social justice. Under his leadership, the party has grown to become a significant voice in Armenian politics.

As a dedicated member and leader within the Meritocratic Party of Armenia, Gurgen Simonyan champions a political philosophy centered on merit-based governance, where positions and policies are determined by competence, expertise, and proven results rather than political connections or personal interests.

Born on May 30, 1985, in Yerevan, Gurgen brings a unique blend of academic excellence and practical experience to Armenian politics. His educational background in Economics and Management of Enterprises from the State University of Architecture and Construction of Yerevan has provided him with the analytical skills necessary for effective policy development and implementation.

Military Service & Recognition

Demonstrating his commitment to Armenia's security and defense, Gurgen was awarded the "Nelson Stepanyan" medal of the RA Armed Forces on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army.

In 2022, he received a letter of commendation from a military commander for his strong performance in a seven-day exercise, showcasing his dedication to national service.

Athletic Excellence & Discipline

For more than ten years, Simonyan thoroughly studied various types of martial arts including full contact, sendo-ryu karate-do, French boxing (savate) and kido-ryu, demonstrating the discipline and perseverance that defines his approach to leadership.

He achieved first place in the absolute weight category among boys 15-17 years old at open competitions, earning recognition from the Armenian National Sendo-ryu Karate-Do Federation.
